With more and more companies deploying
any number of alternative trunk side recording
solutions to protect their businesses from spurious
(financial) claims and complaints made against
innocent members of staff – as well as a
growing number of business verticals being required
to record all of their inbound and outbound calls
for Compliance and Regulatory reasons, the loss
of a company’s secure voice recording facility
could have a severe impact on a business’s
ability to continue trading following an invocation
of their business continuity plan.
Proprietary trunk side recording
units are predominantly installed in the purchasing
company’s “Comms Room” which
also accommodates the business’s PBX and
data servers. The voice recording equipment normally
being installed in the same rack as the voice storage
servers and integrated directly into the on-site
PBX. It will therefore be readily appreciated that
should the business suffer an outage caused by
the failure of any element of their telephony infrastructure
i.e. a cut / damaged telephone cable running between
the Exchange and the end customer’s office
building, possibly as a result of road works; the
failure of the PBX itself through technical failure,
fire, flood etc. or loss of the building, or access
to the building, will also result in the loss of
the conventional voice recording facility.
GemaTech have addressed this issue
by incorporating our secure voice recording module
into both the BCMLITE OPTION I & OPTION II
units enabling all re-routed calls passing through
the respective BCMLITE units to be securely voice
recorded – from with the sanctity and security
of a Tier 1 Carrier’s DLE. All voice recordings
can be stored either in GemaTech’s secure
rack in the serving Carrier’s DLE or the
recordings can be “streamed” using
IP Telephony to permanent voice storage servers
located either in the end-user’s recovery
site or alternative data storage centre.
A major benefit of GemaTech’s
combined BCMLITE / SVRLITE solution however, is
where a prospective customer either does not have
a voice recording facility, or is looking to upgrade
/ replace their existing voiced recording facility
and is also looking to secure a more resilient
telephone solution to protect their mission critical
incoming calls. Deploying GemaTech’s combined
In-Line BCMLITE OPTION II unit incorporating SVRLITE
all inbound and outbound calls can be voice recorded
within the sanctity and security of the serving
carrier’s on an all day every day basis – with
the invaluable benefit that should the business
suffer an outage caused by the failure of any element
of their telephony infrastructure i.e. a cut /
damaged telephone cable running between the Exchange
and the end customer’s office building, possibly
as a result of road works; the failure of the PBX
itself through technical failure, fire, flood etc.
or loss of the building, or access to the building,
through fire, flood, terrorist attack etc, then
the business will suffer no loss of recordings
when the BCMLITE re-routes the inbound calls back
out over the Public Switched Telephony Network
to alternative numbers and / or destinations following
an invocation.
In addition, and whilst the re-routed
inbound calls will continue to be seamlessly recorded,
GemaTech is also able to record the outbound calls
made from those remote locations (employee’s
homes?) by incorporating a separate SVRLITE recording
unit, located in GemaTech’s rack in the serving
DLE, to record the outbound calls being passed
through the telephone Network with the recordings
also being stored in a voice storage server in
the rack before being streamed off to the customer’s
chosen long term storage facility.
